Yoplait Smile Cup
Every once in a while an unsolicited idea, for which there’s no budget or media plan, comes along that has the potential to significantly impact a client’s business. In this case, it was a simple notion. “What if we put a happy face in the bottom of Yoplait and Yoplait Greek cups?” As people finished their yogurt, they’d slowly reveal a happy little smiley face filled with yogurt beaming back up at them. Talk about connecting the brand to a positive consumer experience. We proposed a whole supporting campaign around the idea, but it was really all right there in the bottom of the cup. Yoplait liked the idea enough to ask for packaging specs. Unfortunately, that was the last we heard of it.
The delight found in the bottom of Yoplait cups could have gone on and on.
The potential for social engagement was almost limitless.

Powell Street Station Domination
To demonstrate the capabilities of 3M Scotchprint graphics at the industry’s largest trade show, we covered nearly every surface of the Powell Street station in San Francisco. Why that station? Most of the attendees were staying at a hotel directly connected to the convention center via the train, and would be going through the station to and from the event.
Prior to the show, the above trade ad ran in heavy circulation. Naturally, 3M’s trade booth continued the theme. Visitors were given safari journals and told to go on a hunt. Throughout the station, by each animal pictured, small signs described the special materials, equipment and technologies used in the station transformation. Once attendees had “bagged” all the critters, they returned the last page of their journal to the booth for a chance to win an African safari. Even the installation and rider reactions were filmed and distributed to sales reps around the world, demonstrating the versatility and impact of the product far beyond what an ad ever could.
Sound 80 “Bad Session”
Sound 80 is a full-service recording studio. When writing/building their website, we decided to showcase their skills in the site itself. The track below was split into smaller segments and interspersed throughout the site as sort of roll-over/click “Easter eggs.” The exchange itself is an homage to a famous voice-recording session with Orson Wells. (Listen to the original here. It’s pretty damn amusing.) The great Allen Hamilton takes up Orson’s robe. The mealy-mouthed, hapless director is me.
